Tittesworth Trips
Children in Year 3 and 4 have been taking part in trips to Tittesworth.
Over the last two weeks, Year 3 have enjoyed visiting Tittesworth Reservoir to complete some field work to learn more about the Peak District. Our Geography topic this term is all about 'What natural beauty is there in the United Kingdom?' .
We have learnt that our closest national park and area of natural beauty is the Peak District. Whilst on the trip we went on a walk and created a sketch map of physical and human features. We found lots of examples of both. We conducted some research into how many visitors were at the reservoir and compared the cars in the countryside to the number of cars we see in Fenton.
Although some of us got a little wet on one of the trips we still managed to have a lovely time. Some children were even lucky enough to see a lot of animals like ducks, rabbits, squirrels and birds in their natural habitats.
We are now using our experience to help inform our Geography lessons and help us understand more about why we need to protect the national parks, the types of activities available for visitors and the impact tourism can have on rural areas.
