Autumn 23 Newsletter
Message from Mrs Broadhurst
What an exciting first half-term we have had! It has been so lovely to see the children back in school and eager to learn. We are now all settled in our new classes and getting used to life in our new year groups. There has been lots of learning and lovely activities over the last few weeks:
All the children have been learning about The Harvest Festival and supporting our community.
Children in Reception have been involved in weekly workshops with The New Vic Theatre.
Children in Y2 have been making gingerbread men.
Children in Y3&4 have been taking part in trips to Tittesworth.
We have appointed a new head boy and head girl and held our first Student Council meetings.
This is just a small list of some of the things that have been going on in school. Please remember to check your child's Class Dojo page regularly for more details and pictures.
We would like to welcome our new colleagues to the academy : Mrs Harris (Assistant Headteacher and Senco), Miss Scott (Y4 teacher), Miss Dennis (Y2 teacher), Miss Moss (Early Years Practitioner) and Mrs Ciccotti (Midday Activity Assistant).
I am sure you will all make them feel very welcome.
As the first half-term draws to a close, we look forward to a restful break before returning on Tuesday 7th November for another exciting and engaging term.
Spooky Disco
We will be holding a Spooky Disco on Thursday 26th October.
Nursery, Reception and KS1 will have their Disco during the school day and KS2 will have their's after school.
All children need permission to attend, please log onto Parentpay to give permission and make payment.
The £2.50 donation includes the cost of a drink and snack.
English Update
Here at Co-op Academy Clarice Cliff our vision is that 'Every child is a reader'
As part of this vision, we have invested heavily in our reading areas around the school. Each of these reading areas has been stocked with carefully chosen texts that form part of our Reading Spine. Here is Lyla and Ariana enjoying one of these areas.
.
Our well stocked library is also open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3.30-4pm. Everyone is welcome to pop along and share a book.
Clubs
Current clubs will continue after half-term. Please note that ALL children will need to be collected by an adult at the end of the clubs and children will no longer be allowed to walk home on their own. There are still some places available in Book Club on Mondays. If your child would be interested in attending this, then please get in touch with the school office.
Christmas Fayre
We are really looking forward to our Christmas Fayre on Friday 8th December.
We are in need of bottles and chocolate donations for our Tombola. If this is something you can help with, please bring donations to the office. Thank you so much.
This year we want our Fayre to be bigger and better than ever! If you are interested in having a stall, please contact the office.
More information about all the lovely events and activities planned will be sent out after the half-term break.
