Christmas 23 Newsletter

Message from Mrs Day

What a busy term we have had!

The children have had lots of fun preparing for Christmas.

Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 had some lovely trips and the Academy has taken part in lots of sporting competitions.

Thank you for your continued support, and we hope you all have a fantastic Christmas!

Christmas Fayre

Wow! What a fantastic time we had at our annual Christmas fayre. This was the best one ever and we hope you enjoyed it too.

We would like to say a big thank you to all parents and carers who donated items for the stalls and for joining us to make the event so special.

We would also like to thank all of the local businesses that supported us by providing prizes and vouchers including:

Emma Bridegwater, Stoke Ski Centre, Photo Stoke, Apple Tree Town, The National Trust, Inflato, The Peppermill.

We would also like to give a big shout out to Blythe Bridge Rotary for arranging a visit from the big man and donating craft baubles.

This event could not go ahead without all of this wonderful support. We have raised over £1200 for  school fund. This will go towards providing little extras and nice things for the children.

Christmas Concerts

The children have worked really hard practising for their concerts. So far we have had some really talented Shepherds and Stars and can't wait to hear the angelic voices of KS2 when they perform on Tuesday and Wednesday.

We hope everyone is starting to feel really festive and has enjoyed watching their little ones perform.

Christmas Lunch

The kitchen team did an amazing job serving over 300 Christmas dinners on Friday. We really appreciate all the hard work they put into serving delicious food to our staff and children every day.

Thanks to all the staff who helped to make our Christmas dinner day so special.

Everyone looked really festive and rumour has it that Mrs Day ate over 30 sprouts!!!

Staffing Update

We are sad to be saying goodbye to some of our wonderful staff at the end of this term.

First of all Mr Lewis will be leaving us.  He has been successful in gaining a promotion to the role of Deputy Head of school at a school in Staffordshire which is amazing news.  Mr Lewis has been a fabulous and popular member of staff and we will be very sorry to see him go.  We wish him all the best for the future.  Year 3 O’Keeffe class will be taught by Mrs Byard-Ward from January.  She has already been working in school for a few weeks and has been getting to know the children.  She is a very experienced teacher and has worked closely with Mr Lewis to make sure that there is a smooth transition.  Welcome Mrs Byard-Ward.

We are also sad to be saying goodbye to Mrs Latos.  She has worked at the school for nearly twenty years but has decided to go for a new challenge.  Mrs Latos has been an outstanding and enthusiastic member of staff throughout her time at Clarice Cliff, and she will be greatly missed.  We wish her all the best in her new school.

Mrs Harrison will be joining us in January to teach in Key Stage 2.  She will teach for one day in Year 4 Kahlo, Year 5 Kapoor and Year 5 Dali.  Mrs Harrison is a very experienced teacher with a very keen interest in sport, so we are really excited to welcome her to the team.
