Free School Meal Vouchers | 22nd January
Dear Parent / Carer
I am pleased to inform you that we have now been able to use the government scheme to provide supermarket vouchers for children eligible to receive benefits based free school meals.
The vouchers will be for £60 per eligible child. This amount is £15 per week, from week commencing 25th January to Friday 12th February and also covers the first week of school closure where we were unable to provide an alternative.
On Saturday you should receive an email to the address you recently provided us with. This email will contain a 16 digit e-code. You will then need to use a website called www.freeschoolmeals.co.uk to choose a supermarket and redeem your voucher. Full instructions on how to do this can be found here:
Please note you need to redeem your voucher within 28 days or the code will expire. Once you have exchanged your voucher e-code for a supermarket voucher you can use this as many times as you like until the amount is used up. To use the supermarket voucher you can either print it out or show it on your mobile phone at the checkout.
Please check the retailer’s website for their full terms and conditions.
Please note that supermarket vouchers cannot be used to purchase age restricted products such as cigarettes and alcohol.
Once you have redeemed the full balance of the voucher, please dispose of it as they are unable to be topped up.
If your child is attending school as part of the key worker / vulnerable provision, you will need to provide a packed lunch for them on the days they are in school. They will not be able to have a free school meal in school as well as a voucher.
We hope that this system will support you in providing healthy lunches for your child / children over the next few weeks until they are able to return to school. If you have any queries or need any additional help please contact the school via text or email in the first instance and we will do our best to get back to you ASAP.
