I am delighted and privileged to have joined the Governing team in December 2020 as a Co-opted Governor, supporting Co-op Academy Clarice Cliff in achieving its ambition to create bright futures by celebrating success. I also look forward to embracing my new role as SEND link governor.
I am currently working with colleagues on the My Community Matters programme in Stoke-on-Trent which is commissioned by Stoke-on-Trent City Council Public Health Department. For the past twelve years, I have worked alongside community members, groups and agencies using an asset and strengths based approach to community development and engagement.
In my experience, this way of working helps support and encourage local community members to bring about positive changes that impact both theirs and the wider community’s health and well-being. This creates a neighbourhood where they all want to live, work, and play. I specialise in community engagement and creative participation methods.
As a local resident, and with members of my family attending the academy, my passion is to make a difference in society along with enthusiasm, knowledge and experience which I feel are valuable gifts that I can offer the governing body. I see new learning and development opportunities as key to moving forward.
I am a team player, flexible in my approaches, open-minded, and enjoy supporting community members to feel valued and have a voice.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if I can help in any way with academy and community life.
It would be great to hear from you.
Exciting times ahead.
